I agree with you compeltely on that one, I was kind of surprised there wasn't an invisible wall to protect the roof from being camped.

this is a team tactics game , if u orgenised as team , the roof is a place as any other more reachable places , with a benefit of basicly spy (p)roof ? :)

i rathered the old version cause it made teams act as teams and not a single spy demolishing the defence and his team just kill "the scraps" ...

I agree with Anubis and never thought of the roof as a glitch or cheat in anyway.

It certainly wasn't untouchable, but it was definitely spy proof.

Soldiers or demos could easily take them down........all you had to do was aim for the transporter first!

Easily my bollocks! (they aren't really that easy)

I'd be bashing away at that placement for hours with no luck. The angle it's at keeps you bouncing back horribly if there's any other sentries places on a lower level. Two simultaneous ubered demomen, both competent, couldn't get it easy enough in my experience.

A defence is a defence though, you do what you can to stop the enemy. It's more the fact that it's all up on the roof and it doesn't seem like an originally intended play area because of the engie boosting required to get up.

It's not a glitch, because that would mean that there was a barrier in place that didn't work properly. However, there is no barrier there. (a brush textured in the noplayerclip texture sealing the area off)

The map creator may not have thought that engineers could set up shop up there.

coming from the second tunnel (not the main one ) demo / soldier and even a sniper can bother those sentries and destroy them ...

seen it happend more than once (also to my sentry :) )

all engie needed was to build a dispenser and then deploy a tele exit ... (after jumping on the dis .. )
its not such a big "boost" ..

its a tavtiv team game , every "problem" have its solution , a little thinking , observing (as i saw u advent do lots of times ... ) planing a head and ofc - TEAM WORK !

if it all was easy , it wouldnt b the same now - wouldnt it ? :)

in Warpath , the second points roof .. :)

was "fixed" in warpath2 so u cant build the dispenser and there for cant jump up the roof - unless u are a demo / soldier :)

Yeah.. shenanigans is all I can say.. mind you it's no different from the engie camp point on dustbowl?! The one where they get on the ledge above the short bridge... bastards!
