I think the first game that properly started down the road of the hardcore was X Wing Vs Tie Fighter.
Played plenty before but that was the first obsession.

I think my first game was a platormer on the Vic20. Cant remeber what it was called, maybe brickman or something like that. The other game we had was where you had to drop bombs onto a city and destroy all the buildings before the plane crashed into them.

I was only about 4 or 5 then so cant really remember it too well.

It was my amiga 500+ that really kicked it off for me. Wings and Sensible world of soccer. I used to play those for hours!!

My first PC multiplayer exprience came at my friends house. He had doom connected to his and his brothers PC via a massive serial cable and we used to play deathmatch fior hours.

Ten years later and in my opinion this is still one of the best games I have ever played. (I played 9 before 7 and 8, and don't have a ps2 so haven't played the others).

Hmm the first game I probable played was actually Super Mario on my friend's Gameboy now that I think about it, back when I was about 5! I think he was only my friend cause he had a gameboy as well lol.

Then I remember a dos based game back on Windows 3.1 called Wallpipe, used to spend hours on that on my Dad's work PC lol

Actually I've just downloaded wallpipe again to play, but it's a dos game so won't run in Vista. I am sure there is some way round this tho, can anyone help? Much thanks
