Ok, Supernova, FF9 is an amazing game. For those who are a fan of the series, it was a nice change of pace, to get back to ff's roots. FF7 (which I love) started a trend where they got away from the fantastical storybook worlds, into more of a machine era, FF8 started getting out of control. So 9 was very refreshing. It's a little hard to go back and play since I've played 10 and 12? bc of the voices. But I'm a huge fan of the series, and FF7 has a special place in my heart for being one of those things during your childhood that really take you back.

As well as being one of the best games I ever played, it is also the single best game series I've ever played I never finished ff7 nor ff8 as I ran out of time, and never played 10, 10.2 or 12 (or the online ones?). The storyline from what I played of ff9,8, and 7 was fantastic.... incredible even :D
So many hours could be put into the games doing mini quests, capturing skills, loads of things -- free roaming environment and when you get the gold chocobo or the airship.... :D :D :D

Before I owned a PSone (i had the small one, could never afford the first one when it came out, had to save up) I had a black original gameboy with the game "Mystic Quest." It featured eidolons and moogles and chocobo, but wasn't part of the final fantasy series. Play style was the same but obviously in a more zelda link's awakening type look.

Now that game was fan-fucking-tastic, it was abso-fucking-lutely incredible... only later did I actually realise it was made similar to ff5 and 6 (which i have on playstation somewhere). It then solidified my knowledge that the ff series was the best series ever ;D

On another note, the game on the gameboy Dragon Warrior Monsters also features in my top 10 games ever played...

Anybody else remember this absolute gem?

Also, seeing you here dragoon. Legend of Dragoon was pretty hot as well. Teensie bit lacking in the replay value, but still a great go through the first time.

LOL DWM! =D
I played that one and loved it as well, it was my first ever RPG, before Zelda and Pokemon.
My first ever email address got it's name/alias from DWM (got it in 99), and I still use it =D
Now I miss me a good RPG monster fix =(

I member tryin to breed a GoldSlime, pass some hard dungeons, some unicorn and big chinese dragon monster that flew in the background of your breeding / home arena monster storage place.

Pokemon has a revival as a mobilephone game over here.
In School everyone aged 16-20 is playing it on their mobilephones and sharing monsters with blue, and red edition and playing the silver and gold too...

Its realy weird seeing all those boys and girls playing that shit while lessons and in the breaks....

I never had a gameboy, never played pokemon or something else^^

And while you played pokemon in 1999 I played already Half Life on my own computer^^
