Re: First Ever Game
Lol?
I don't even think our household had a computer, just a new(ish) typewriter. 0_o

Re: First Ever Game
I really hate I missed HL. I think I was busy playing on my PS. I was really big into FF, Gameday series. My pc was still the family one, and wasn't so hot. I reckon I was playing Dark Forces II, and maybe still playing stuff like XWINGvTIE? and WCII? Maybe BF1942, I could be getting dates mixed up.Llama@bad wrote:Pokemon has a revival as a mobilephone game over here.
In School everyone aged 16-20 is playing it on their mobilephones and sharing monsters with blue, and red edition and playing the silver and gold too...
Its realy weird seeing all those boys and girls playing that shit while lessons and in the breaks....
I never had a gameboy, never played pokemon or something else^^
And while you played pokemon in 1999 I played already Half Life on my own computer^^

Thanks for the Dosbox pointer, after a little bit of playing around I am now reliving the wonderful game that is Wallpipe!AngryWolf wrote:Oh, I know of a similar old game made in 1984.Jonnywhy wrote:Then I remember a dos based game back on Windows 3.1 called Wallpipe, used to spend hours on that on my Dad's work PC lol

a nice gui that handles multiple dosbox configs, so you can dbl click yer way into yer favourite old dos based games quick stylee. handles setup/install based games as well as just plain exe.
If you intend playing more than one dos based game, makes life easier.
also has prepackaged good-to-go games available for download
if you like kicking it old skool, it's the shit

Re: First Ever Game
If my brain remembers right it was prob Burning Rubber on a Amstrad 464 first computer 2 i think
Re: First Ever Game
There was a helicopter and you had to go up or down and fire at oncoming targets...
the old classic paperboy
Banshee - spitfire type plane had to drop bombs...
those were the real first games i remember.
Doom was the first shooter
The games though that i really played alot of when i was very young were age of empires, caesar, settlers, transport tycoon... i remember me and my mate pre-ordering age of empires 2 in wigan, we stood outside Game for an hour waiting for it to open - we were the only customers but played it non-stop all summer (dont take it literally)
Then Half-Life came along in 1998 and all other games ceased to exist. Seriously i havent played any other came in 10 years, apart from half life 2.
