Bringing people to the server
Here's the story: I've been playing tf2 for a while now, and it triggered my friends's curiosity. Once i showed them the game, some bought a copy of their own. I told them about fester's place, and i think they're becoming regular players in the server (haven't played much in a while due to computer problems, so there's no way for me to know). They're only 3 for now, but more and more of my acquaintances are going to buy the game soon.
My question is: do you welcome this people? I realize you prefer to play with people you know than with total strangers, and I'm not willing to repeat a mistake I made in the past.

Re: Bringing people to the server
a few of us know each other in person and a few have been gaming together for years, but other than that the majority of the regulars on Fester's Place have actually formed their friendships thru playing here.
Like yourself, some have enjoyed it enough to get their friends onboard, and long may it continue I say.
If your mates are like us, ie into playing some games, getting wasted
at a computer and talking complete bollox...generally having the craic, then they are going to fit in fine !
For the most part, the people we know now were pretty much total strangers to begin with...
This will change for a lot of us this coming weekend, when Festerfest happens...there is 15-16 (or thereabouts) people coming to Galway (from a few countries) to meet up for the first time, put some faces to names/voices and do what we do online, but in person. 9 months ago I hadnt encountered most of them in any form
Fret ye not, the more the merrier IMO!!

Yeah del nailed it there. Everyone is welcome here, and welcome to tell your friends to join in. As long as there not annoying idiots then there will be no problem. And if someone you know did cause problems here, they would get the blame Loud, not you

Re: Bringing people to the server
Seems with any game that grabs my attention a great group of people come with it. Medal of Honour online introduced be to my first clan, sterling chaps to a man and great fun in real life (we went to the Dam
) BF2142 got me into my current clan, another brilliant group of mostly irish guys with whom i've attended two lans and numerous nights out. Much fun every time.
With TF2 though, never before have i met a group of more degenerate, foul-mouthed, hilarious and friendly reprobates. I joined the server as a randomer and was welcomed, now i live here. So i shall try to do the same to others.
Unless they don't know how to uber. GOD HELP THEM IF THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO UBER!

Re: Bringing people to the server
I was playing avanti with mug, snipergert and a couple of others at stupid o'clock this morning. A scout on blu who didn't know the map ran all the way to church with the intel when they hadn't even capped the first point. Instead of asking what to do he just decided to run into red spawn and get himself killed
After three hours of drunken sleep on my couch followed by 2 very strong and sweet cups of coffee I found that hillarious

Sounds like you friends and you will fit in fine here, unless, they are annoying idiots. GOD HELP THEM IF THEY ARE ANNOYING IDIOTS I WILL EAT THEM.
I followed DHARMA AGENT here and got to know the fellas, a couple weeks later, we're all good friends. With a few random odd requests to sing songs. o_0 Apparently that is what wasted folks do nowadays.
Hope your pals have a nice voice?
Heya, can you bring some hot chicks onto the server as well? XD

Re: Bringing people to the server
I remember it back on 2Fort server, Jased moaning his head off about no medics, and just generally talking crap. But the reason I stayed: People talked to each other! I was trying out servers, but was not seeing how it was that different to single player stuff, as essentially it was me running around killing opponents (or them killing me as it used to be at the start). Then I found 24/7 2fort, and PEOPLE TALKED TO EACH OTHER. And it was fun, and the banter was quality. This, I told myself is what online gaming should be about, not in solitude killing others.cockijoe wrote:my 1st encounter on festers was a late night with jased fester del advent and mug, Loved it never looked back fek other servers lol
