Got me irritated again when I see the team you're in is working their ass off to get 2-0 or whatever leading score in CTF
Then you hear at the end "you faiiiiilllled" (hey f*ck, it was 3-0 ?!!)
FFS

Most number of caps win, not most total points duh
Otherwise there should be teamdeathmatch played and u get something like 589-450

I still dont understand why this still is like that
No point in doing effort to cap.

first to 4, 4 gives you a round win
scoring goes on round wins. As many rounds as you can fit in 30min

so if you are winning 3-0 in a round, but have already lost a round, 2-4 say, and the timer expires, you will lose, 0-1

30 mins is rarely enough time to complete one round on a CTF map (unless it's Chaos).

30mins is loads of time. We are just doing it wrong.
I'd rather a 30min stalemate tho over a 45 or 60min stalemate, as full fastrespawn servers generally end up that way

its ridiculous to have 2-0 in ctf map and then got "u faaaailllll" voice.
Why bother to do caps ?
Del, it might be possible that rounds are summed up.
30min : Blue-Red
Round 1 : 1-4
Round 2 : 3-1
Total is 4-5 , so at end of round 2 blue fails, however they won round 2
Just theory

But I remember that 2fort is mostly played for 1 round ,using the full 30min
We had 1-0, but at the end we got "sudden death" :roll:
So if u dont get the needed 4 caps, u get SD...

Furthermore
For payload and some cp maps, its almost impossible to get the last capture, since spawn is exactly next to it. Unless the defending team is really crap, its rare that blue wins on Badwater, pl_Dustbowl, cp_warpath etc.

Of course, on some servers waiting 20seconds is ridiculous, but maybe a poll for fast-respawn, lets say 5seconds ?

I understood it as Del explained. It's round points that count. So 4 caps get you a round win and then the cap points start from scratch. Sounds far enough. As for why bother if thats the case then I guess you could equally say "why play?" :)

I am on your side Klink.

Its scored like a game of tennis (games being the caps and sets being the rounds). With tennis though there is no time limit so a game will evetually be won and eventually a set will be one. With TF2 we have a 30 min time limit. If there was no time limit one team would eventually cap enough points to win a round but the time limit means this more often than not foes to a sudden death.

Can I propose only one round, no limit on the number of caps and a 30 min limit. I'm not sure how configurable this all is, or whether the game rules are set. This would mean the score down the bottom of the screen shows who is winning overall and would mean players late into the fray can easily see how ahrxd they need to work to win.

OLD.... Simple as this folks not everyone is going to happy with everything let it be the 3 sec respawn or the way Valve has set up scoring... either way there is only so much we can do to keep everyone smiling...

Keep the fast respawn, but maybe as YamNivek says playing a single round on CTF maps with most caps winning at the end of the time limit is a good idea.

Nice suggestion, we play the maps anyway for 30min !

3-2, 3-1,3-0,2-0,2-1,1-0 is win !
Sudden Death should only kick in when score is equal like 2-2

Maybe a poll could let the mass speak ?
