my view on the spec kick in 5 minutesis this.
people who want to role some, cannot always do it in 5 minutes.
also because they grab a beer and take a pis for instance...
therefore people dont go in spec but go afk in a team just doing nothing.
i dont have to explain further what that causes...
i think the way it was, was pretty good. specs got kicked by admins if all slots were full and specs did not respond. and you were free to roll a spliff....sometimes it just takes more then 5 minutes.
i am not sure what spliffs you build, but mine takes about 8 till 10 minutes to build but i can do at least some time with my enormous unit.
some may role only small ones and go afk every map to build one quick.
i got kicked very often while i was in spec....the stupid thing was i could not come back in cause someone stole my spot, while i was just about to join....it would have maybe taken me 20 seconds more.
then i had to wait around 10 minutes to get in the server so i could build another spliff in that time...
in my opinion 5 minutes looks long enough but in reality it seems like only 3 minutes.

About the rtv part:
If we have more and better maps in rotation, and prepared to remove some of the rotation there will be alott less rtv-ing all the time. and we can always nominate the map anyway.
maps that people nominate are often not in rotation and suited for the amount of players at that period.
The map rotation is focussed on 32 players, insta spawn large maps....and already so well known that most people don't like these maps with 8v8 gameplay...
For me the cause and sollution of this problem is the existing map rotation.
Not to harm mug, cause its just damn hard to get a good rotation on.
this week i looked for new maps...a bit without result cause not many maps i tryed were good.
so that its a hard job we know already....but some maps in rotation are just crap atm.
