Re: Guild Wars 2
Its meant to give you stuff for when you make a character in GW2 so if you have a full HoM its should translate into a fair few things to help your 'decendent'.

Re: Guild Wars 2
I'm a GW fan but i've said this from the start: a free-to-play wow-scale mmo? It's just too good to be truth. How are they gonna make money from it besides from sales? Will there be any custom support? Bug fixing?
And most of all, will there be any other form of pvp besides arena? I'm getting sick of mmo's that promise total freedom but restrict your behaviour towards other players. Dev's came to the stupid (imo) realization that Trammel is the way to go and they refuse to admit it as a mistake. (Trammel was a world in Ultima Online where you couldn't kill anyone but monsters)
I'n the good ol' ultima online days there were no pvp restrictions. Sure, many players went to the forums and whined about being killed, but you know what? They'd still play the game, if only to plot their revenge against those who killed them. The moment pvp restrictions were applied, the game started to wither. No dastardly behaviour means no bad blood, and no bad blood will eventually bore the player. In the words of Chad Sexington,
(why the fuck do all my MMO rants end up in "the good ol' ultima online days"?!)

tl;dr:So what i'm trying to say is, if this is another co-op pvm adventure with pvp on the side, i'll probably stick with GW1 and hope for the best in the uo shard i'm playing... or used to. Unless of course if everyone from GW1 jumps ship to GW2There's nothing glorious about everyone having everything. There's nothing glorious about taking the humanity out of adventure. And I think that's what people are forgetting.
Trammel was born and the real player interaction was lost.
I'm talking about the risk filled interaction. The unknown around every corner. Guild hunts and guild meetings aplenty, but the problem is that everyone is king.
The sad truth is, in the grand scheme of things, everyone starts in neutral. And in order to hear tales of great adventure, someone needs to get knocked down a peg for someone else to rise. And that's why it no longer exists. People wouldn't and couldn't accept a world where others would gain from their expense. The gods agreed and decreed that their safety come first. And with it, was the beginning of the end of those glorious tales that will never come again.
