You obviously believe everything you read... here's a thing... don't believe everything you read and as for Halo hasn't it had a longer term as a released game across more platforms than The Orange Box and then The Orange Box is an item inself much the same as Half Life 2 (standalone) is an item?

Statistics are great and Top whatevers are too but rarely are they truly accurate or reflective of the real world.

Are you being serious here or are you joking? (sorry, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not)

I sincerely doubt it Halo is the biggest selling game in the world.........perhaps on the Xbox it is, but I imagine one of the Mario games, or hell, something timeless like Tetris would actually hold the title.

Although, how many Wii's have been sold? Perhaps the Wii Sports would technically be the bigest selling video game.

but wiisports comes with the console, u dont technically buy it

Does it even matter?
I'd say at least 95% of the people here have tried Halo in one of it's incarnations, or more likely have tried all three. I can't believe people froth at the mouth over it.
It is, at it's very best, a solid shooter in multiplayer, and a consistent dissappointment in campaign.
It's bland, the story is bog standard sci-fi fare and it's player base makes the average Counter Strike server seem like a MENSA conference.

Yes it's sold a billion billion copies, you know why? Because it's bland. And accessible. And easy.

Take a million people and let them choose between something new, innovative and challenging and something familiar and achievable, and sadly the majority will go with the latter.
Even gamers.

And we're better than regular people.
