uhm ...the news are olds ....April 5, 2007

I haven't seen any of these solar panels around or any advertisement for that kind of technology.
I guess we won't get them so fast.

That's perfectly normal, this stage of development usually takes another 5-10 years until end-consumer products come out... There's quite a lot of nifty things out there that have been researched by a university or company, but are not developed enough to be useful, or fit for mass production.

Some examples:
The Memristor (http://www.hpl.hp.com/news/2008/apr-jun/memristor.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;),
or the Holographic Disk (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/27/techn ... globalhome" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
I mean, it's all windy stairs. I'm not being funny.

uhm ...that's not really what I'd be looking for if I want a hologram.
Like some comment on the video said. "Don't try to put your finger through it."
The problem with that hologram is, it is not separated from a solid surface and that's actually what we all expect from a hologram otherwise this is just an odd rotating screen and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to use instead of a flatscreen for example.
Oh yeah, you can run around it but I doubt it would work properly on a larger scale plus think of the power you'd have to put in to keep the mirror spinning.

"Hey actually Jonnywhy is right" - AngryWolf

"I agree with Jonnywhy" - Supernova

"Jonnywhy you're about as useful as a ashtray on a motor bike!" - Fester
