This may be a controversial thing to say but it won't stop me saying it but have any of you noticed that a couple of recent american shows that are high in the ratings contain English actors in the lead role?
Hugh Laurie - House.
Tim Roth - Lie to Me.
Anna Friel - Pushing Daisies (Not sure what happened on this one)
For it's cheesy goodness:
Michelle Ryan - Bionic Woman
The narrator in Pushing Daisies is also English. He's from the "carry on" films and no I don't watch it!

Pushing Daisies was a great show, I loved it to bits!
It got cancelled last year though.
Another notable english actor on US TV is Jamie Bamber, who was Apollo in the brilliant Battlestar Galactica remake.

I was going to mention him. I never realised he was english til he showed up on Law and Order UK. He's also had a showing in Dollhouse too.

Indeed he did!
Have to say that I find Law and Order UK to be a really weird show, especially with yer man from Coronation Street on it!
I also think there were a good few more English actors in Battlestar, with the chap who played Baltar really coming to mind (James Callis)
Someone needs to give that guy a show of his own actually, he was amazing in BSG!

I found him difficult to stick with but was a nice part in BSG. Nice to see some other cast members get around the other shows.
Tricia Helfer (Number Six) made it to Warehouse 13 recently. So did Michael Hogan (Col Tigh Saul).
Surprisingly Katie Sackhoff (Starbuck) was bionic womans nemesis in the remake show.

Yeah, they should have just made the show about her.
I have to say that I was really disappointed with that particular remake.
It is such a great premise, and they fucked it up with a convoluted plot and a terribly uninteresting main character.

How about The Riches with Eddie Izzard?
It's painful to watch him play a part of an american dude.

Star Trek - Patrick Stewart.
All right, so it's not that recent, but be quiet!

Yeah we are all over the place.. can't hide from us Brits!

Can't blame up for going for a better paid job in the US though. Obviously the government increase to minimum wage of 7p/hr wasn't enough incentive to stay
Just watched FlashForward. Shame the episode wasn't a 2 part special but worth it. I'm not a fan of Jack Davenport a bit one dimesional.
