I don't understand all the hate on CoD as of late.
Activision I can understand - OP's listed a reason right there.

But gameplay-wise, CoD has, and likely, always will be, pretty rock-solid. If you're on about the MP then blame the community (and akimbo weapons) for its faults.

I suppose the community was stupid enough to pay ridiculous amounts for some old maps though and annoyingly will be stupid enough to do it again.

An easy fps game for the masses. I suppose it's somewhat like TF2 in that respect but I've never been called every obscenity under the sun in TF2 (or any other valve game in that fact, weird huh?!)
The game will keep on selling because of the reputation it built up from cod1 to cod4 and its once thriving competitive scene, all in my humble opinion of course.
Dedicated servers need to be implemented without a doubt, I'm confident in saying that's been the on everyone's lips since its release, I couldn't be bothered sitting through 5 old maps with whiney kids just to play 10minuites of a new map I've just paid £10 to see.
