is working pretty good, i havent had to change my telly settings once with it onEver notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow?
Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen?
During the day, computer screens look good—they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.
F.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.
It's even possible that you're staying up too late because of your computer. You could use f.lux because it makes you sleep better, or you could just use it just because it makes your computer look better.
f.lux makes your computer screen look like the room you're in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again.
Tell f.lux what kind of lighting you have, and where you live. Then forget about it. F.lux will do the rest, automatically.

Re: f.lux
thats the whole point of it, for people who're up all night but keep their monitor settings the same throughout the day and nightLlama wrote:i like what it does to my display since my eyes hurt at night because its so bright/white.

It's not for problems with your monitor, it's for problems with your eyes! I've been using this quite a lot, as the brightness of my screen is usually a lot brighter than the crappy 40w lightbulb that spews out orange light in the room, can cause eye ache after a lot of looking at the screen.Avenging wrote:meh i don't have an issue with my monitor, but I can se how it might help others here + 1 dream.
LED lighting is the way forward!
There's another tip, the '20 20 20 rule' (more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_vision_syndrome" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) which says you can keep your eyes healthier by looking at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. It forces your eyes to re-focus and re-size your iris based on light elsewhere in the room, rather than staying the same for hours.
