vol 100 worked!
i think Thanatosgratus was the first one, so whenever you are in amsterdam let me know, you deserve a beer!
thanks to all for good suggestions....but this is a special case, i think in one of my many attempts to make different mics work we may have tried to thinker with /vol and thats probably what was casuing the problem
So type in console /vol 100
..it helps
