Yeah Peter Jackson doesn't normally put a foor wrong. Although, as a Tolkien fan, I disagree with a few of the plot changes they made for LOTR - especially those they made just to satisfy 'Political Correctness'.Soap wrote:It was a good game, but a bit linear. well we have yet to see the big daddy action figures on the horizonChairman_Meow wrote:Wasn't there some talk of a Bioshock movie coming out too?they would keep telling the Bioshock story until it's done.
The possibility of limitless sequels and a movie in the making sounds like the beginning of another franchise about to be milked to death.

I guess my PC could handle it, but I got the 360 for Christmas, so I'm looking for awesome games for it.Johnimus Prime wrote:Definately get it - it's brilliantCettu wrote:
What do you think about this?
I haven't played Bioshock yet, but I've heard so many good things about it, that I'm thinking of getting it for the Xbox 360.
But get it for the 360??? Only if your PC couldn't handle it!

I'm a big believer tht consoles are better for driving games / fighting games - that sort fo thing. FPS is definately PC territory only. I got gears of War for PC and its really good, but from everything I read much much better on xbox360 because the controller makes it easier - its 3rd person not 1st.Cettu wrote:

My mate has Project Gotham racing which is good, as is Forza (if your not stoned or drunk as its very realistic). I would have through any of the need for speed titles would kick ass as well!

I am a huge fan of the movies, saw them after reading the book. What were those PC changes then? Obviously they had to make a few changes to the story line to ensure they could make them into reasonable film lengths such as cutting Tom Bombadil out, but I hadn't heard about these ones?Johnimus Prime wrote:Yeah Peter Jackson doesn't normally put a foor wrong. And is it true the Hobbit is going to be made at some point?

All that bollocks with Arwen taking Frodo to Rivendell - crap. It was Glorfindel. Frodo & Sam never went to Osgiliath with Faramir. Shelob appeared at the end of the two towers. They missed out the Scouring of the Shire - the whole Saruman and Wormtongue dying at Orthanc was bollocks. Many many more to mention, but I think I've been a Tolkien geek enough!Jonnywhy wrote:

Lastly, yes They are going to make the Hobbit. Guillermo del Toro is directing, but the team that put the screenplay together for LOTR will be doing it as well. I think Peter Jackson is going to produce as there was some disagreement about fees with New Line with LOTR - hence he won't direct it. Ian McKellan is returning as Gandalf, but I don't know much more than that.

Yeh, those changes are obvious if you read the book, (another one, Amon Hen happens at the start of the two towers...), and numerous lines passed from one character to another (such as Theoden saying "let this be the hour we draw swords together" at helm's deep instead of Eomer on the Pelennor fields) but were they made for Political correctness reasons?Johnimus Prime wrote:All that bollocks with Arwen taking Frodo to Rivendell - crap. Lol, my sister got a Dvd trivial pursuit game for the Lord of the Rings, my family refuse to play me anymore cause I thrash them when I'm on expert level and they're on easy!!
Sir Ian Holm back as Bilbo would be good.

Re: Bioshock could see upwards of five sequels!
Well, the book makes a lot of references to 'darked skinned southerners', who are generally evil. Even the Orcs use the term 'black skin' in a derrogetory way. Thats not to say that Tolkien was necessarily a racist, but I know when the films came out they made a big deal about East Vs West, because basically anything from the East is depicted as evil and the film was released a few months after 9/11.Jonnywhy wrote:

If I remember I think they purposely casted 'dark skinned Europeans' i.e Italians/Greeks as any Harradrim and Easterlings that had face-shots, even though I think in the book the general impression is that they are meant to be black.
But anyways, frankly I love the films - and I'm very relieved that they didn't turn out as bad as they could have been. If I remember instead of 3 films it was meant to be 2, and that it was Arwen who fought with Aragorn at helms deep, whilst at the end of the third film Aragorn dukes it out mano el mano with Sauron. All pretty shit ideas.
EDIT: Infact, I was pissed they left out the Scouring Of The Shire chapter because its my favourite one.
