New MMO to look forward to

For a while now I've been following a game by NCsoft (Guild wars, L2, others) called Aion: Tower of Eternity. The reason I'm posting it here because a while back I saw that a few people were on MMO's and were looking for a new one. Well this game looks to go up against WoW and do very well. It's been released in Korea already and just from the beta in the first 2 mins 11,000 people came on. Now aparently more came on when the game was actually released!!

A bit about the game anyway, It has stunning visuals (using the Far Cry engine), 2 races, 4 classes with 2 subclasses each, a flight mode that looks brilliant which is where the player gains Wings for their character and can fly around. The gameplay looks fresh with lots of good looking spells and skills and the character customisation looks better than any ever seen, you can change anything about your character whether it being fat or thin. It's about 3 races, 2 playable, 1 not. The Elyos (good side) ,The Asmodians (bad side) and The Balaur (big bad side, and not playable). All 3 fighting because The Balaur split the Tower of Eternity in 2 dividing them all up fighting to take the Tower to ensure their survival. You can Pvp near their in a battle ground called The Abyss, where you can fight on the ground or in flight mode. The videos I've seen of it so far look amazing and great fun to take part in. Then theres PvE where the whole world looks so well thought out and same for the music (take a look at the US link i give below to see what i mean), there are proffesions for your character to be able to craft items and gather them. This game will cost around £7.99 a month though, but when you see some gameplay, it'll be worth playing.

I'm definately going to buy this, and if anyone else will, just say. I wanna play with a few people from Fests place.

Yeah so do most people! But personally I like open world, tactical first person shooters (which is why I'm so critical of Far Cry 2). They released a MMO called Planetside about 5/6 years ago that was badly developed and laggy, but otherwise really enjoyable. Nothing quite like orchestrating a huge armada to wipe out a continent full of enemies!

I've been waiting about 2 years for Huxley. Apparently it plays a lot like Unreal Tournament. Frankly I'd rather see Planetside 2 but I doubt it will ever happen.

The two mmo's with FPS aspects that have come out so far have bombed, Hellgate London and Tabula Rasa. I don't know if it's meant to be, very tricky to pull off either way.

agree with jase. all MMORPG'S are shit. they are made to suck all the joy out of your life and it's not surprise to me that fullmetal is the one to come with the newest mmo and make our forum dirty!!

Star Wars Galaxies was the buggiest game ever, but it was SO awesome at the same time.

But since then (like 2005) I haven't found an MMO worth a crap. They build up a bunch of hype, and then try to farm your money ($15 dollars a month).

How lame is it, that you have to pay a monthly fee just to play? It's like a bill.

I'm mildly interested in the new Star Wars MMO, but I think more just bc its star wars. I think thats the only thing I really liked about Star Wars Galaxies.
