I know there is a few creative types lurking around here, so riddle me this...
What video editing software would you reccommend using, for a beginer? I've got a full copy of fraps and would love to try my hand at making a few clips but lack any way to piece them together, add music/effects and such.
The only footage i have so far is two mins on festers where my girlfriend messages me and i get blown up as a result. Not a good start.

Oh and why does the footage from tf2 have no audio? I recorded some off COD4 minutes ago and it was grand.
Help this noob.

I Use Magix http://www.magix.com/. Works great and you can pre-watch you vid without rendering it first. You can also convert MOV files which is a plus for me. Great tool for beginners too

Which one mate, Movie Edit Pro 14 PLUS? Is it free?

I've used Adobe Premier Pro for some time and can be reasonable on the learning curve if you keep things simple. I've heard Sony Vegas 8 is worth a look see although both are not free or cheap. The movies I've produced have been done with Adobe.

Not free...I spent $69 on it. You could try Vidoe Dub. It's free but it pretty advance...I have 8 but 14 is the latest

I use virtualdub (free) for the reencoding of telly proggies and whatnot...but I dont edit them as such

I also dabbled w/ vegas and premiere, granted twas a couple of years ago I've no idea what versions I was using, so they could be worlds different now, but I found Vegas was waay easier to use than premiere, but premiere has oodles of bells n whistles. both are v expensive tho

Adobe premiere is the best thing ive found so far. I agree it could be a little bit hard at first, but once you find your way around, thers no limit to what u can do. Especially if you combine it with adobe after effects and soundbooth.

But then again - if ur going to buy them youll have to be a fuckin millionaire
