I know there is a few creative types lurking around here, so riddle me this...
What video editing software would you reccommend using, for a beginer? I've got a full copy of fraps and would love to try my hand at making a few clips but lack any way to piece them together, add music/effects and such.
The only footage i have so far is two mins on festers where my girlfriend messages me and i get blown up as a result. Not a good start.

Oh and why does the footage from tf2 have no audio? I recorded some off COD4 minutes ago and it was grand.
Help this noob.

I Use Magix http://www.magix.com/. Works great and you can pre-watch you vid without rendering it first. You can also convert MOV files which is a plus for me. Great tool for beginners too

I made this with it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yllNYk3E8Wc

I've used Adobe Premier Pro for some time and can be reasonable on the learning curve if you keep things simple. I've heard Sony Vegas 8 is worth a look see although both are not free or cheap. The movies I've produced have been done with Adobe.

I use virtualdub (free) for the reencoding of telly proggies and whatnot...but I dont edit them as such

I also dabbled w/ vegas and premiere, granted twas a couple of years ago I've no idea what versions I was using, so they could be worlds different now, but I found Vegas was waay easier to use than premiere, but premiere has oodles of bells n whistles. both are v expensive tho :(

dont hit me, k....but windows movie maker? free, does the basics

Adobe premiere is the best thing ive found so far. I agree it could be a little bit hard at first, but once you find your way around, thers no limit to what u can do. Especially if you combine it with adobe after effects and soundbooth.

But then again - if ur going to buy them youll have to be a fuckin millionaire
