I like my job. The pay isn't too bad, I get a car, I manage my own diary and I like the people work with.
But there are days when I just despair.
I had a query from a manager this afternoon. This is someone who manages a team of about 15 other people and is responsible for what they do. Consequently there are a lot of spreadsheets he needs to use to track information.
He got an updated 'tracker' today and was a bit confused as to why it wasn't working. So he rang me up. Now I have helped him with spreadsheets before, and if I'm brutally honest he isn't that IT literate. More worryingly I would also go as far as to describe him as challenged by a lack of common sense. How he got the job is beyond me.
I remotely accessed his machine.
I looked at the spredsheet.
I saw the problem straight away.
It's a bit difficult to filter information in a spreadsheet WHEN THERE ISN'T ANY INFORMATION ENTERED IN THERE!!!!!!!
