It should be "AJAX-fan attacks goalkeeper and goalkeeper defends himself in a south american way"...
But yeah, was pretty huge... Good on the coach Gert-Jan Verbeek for just leaving, and protecting his players safety.

I heard it was related to an attempted murder charge for the goal keeper earlier this year and the other man was a relative of the ex gf.

Wild rumours... Was just a drunk 19-yo... Supporters who were sitting next to him said he wanted to bet with his friends he could make the papers, and today his attorney made appologies on his behalf saying it was a stupid act and that they understood the goaly's reaction and would not be filing charges...

bs. Guy was a fan of AZ and disappointed with the keeper, he was drunk, made a bet with other people that he would kick him and get on tv.
Guy came running toward keeper, keeper only saw him in the last second and reacted quickly. Shouldn't have gotten a card for that.
I'd say he was sent of because he didnt just defend himself. Had he not continued to kick the guy after he floored him with a kick he possibly would have gotten away with it.

this! saw it on the net yesterday, stupid fan deserves everything he got. you cant expect the goalie to not defend himself, he could've had a knife or anything. and good on the AZ manager for taking the team off, i'd've done the same
people have been saying that its a red card for any violent act, whether it be against players, officials or fans, but surely the ref has an obligation for the safety of the players? sending the GK off just shows a complete lack of compassion after what happened
also here's what happens when you try this in romania
