I'd say at least 95% of the people here have tried Halo in one of it's incarnations, or more likely have tried all three. I can't believe people froth at the mouth over it.
It is, at it's very best, a solid shooter in multiplayer, and a consistent dissappointment in campaign.
It's bland, the story is bog standard sci-fi fare and it's player base makes the average Counter Strike server seem like a MENSA conference.

Yes it's sold a billion billion copies, you know why? Because it's bland. And accessible. And easy.

Take a million people and let them choose between something new, innovative and challenging and something familiar and achievable, and sadly the majority will go with the latter.
Even gamers.

And we're better than regular people.

I totally agree w/ advent, okish multiplayer(I scoff in general at autoaiming gamepad fps anyway), absurd campaign....endless similar corridors of monotony...

as for sales, take the total of the 3 games across the 2 xbox consoles and it'll just about beat out Pokemon on the Nintendo Gameboy. wow, awesome

World of Wankers has more losers (10m) playing that every month than Halo 3, the best selling of the franchise, managed in total sales

and hats of to the Lazy Eagle, Wii Sports has sold 18m+ copies. Not too shabby.

It's a fun multiplay game if you have a few xbox's linked together in the same area/room. Other then that, Multiplay over the internet isn't all that great.

Anyone play TF2 (Orange Box) on Xbox? Wonder how the internet (Live) play is? If you have the same experance as the PC version.

I hate using a controller/gamepad for FPS, that is why TF2 is on my PC . I dont think I'd like the Xbox version cause of that. If they would make a usable mouse on the xbox it might be different.

BTW I'm a TrackBall User. Greatest mouse in my opinion.

IMO I don't care how well a game sells, as long as it's fun to play. Heck I buy very few new games, cause I love playing the old ones so much that I keep coming back to them (Rome: Total War, Champ Manager, Pro Evo etc - endless replayability).
