Funeral Song

Post by Joples » Thu Oct 08, 2009 9:08 pm

So, I was wondering what song you would want played at your funeral?

Me personally, I would want 'It's the end of the world as we know it' by REM 'cause, lets face it, my death would be the end of the world to all my friends and family ;)

I wouldn't mind having the Birdie Song.

Might bring a smile to a face or two!

Somewhat strange and macarb topic. Never given it much thought but choosing for myself I'd probably go with Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge over troubled water and/or a great Carpenters Classic. Can't beat either for plucking on the tearducks.

I want it to start as Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem and just when the piece reaches it's crescendo it will cut out and Flo' Rida "Low" will come on, just at the bit where he sings about "apple bottom jeans and the boots with the fur".

Cool idea, Mr. Joples, ma´am!

What the fuck is responsible for you thinkin that it would be a good idea to surprise your surviving dependants with stuff like that, Advent ?
Possibly they won´t even pay your funeral after that after-life-move

3 songs:
The ones that gotta be played will be

1. one: "Johnny Cash - God´s gonna cut you down" (of cause)
2. one: "Fury in the slaughterhouse - Dead and gone" (oooh yeah - hell of a song)
3. one: "Dropkick Murphys - Shipping up to Boston"

And afterwards loads of beer to make ´em forget what they´ve lost
(in loving memory to the remembrance ceremony of the pikeys in SNATCH - when Mickey lost his mother - that seems to be one of the deepest threnodial scenes ever - the way Ritchie shows by pic and sound how lost Mickey feels w/o his mother)
