Thanks, it's a good video, especially considering that it's made after the Soldier-Demoman update.
Well yeah, I always (over)heal everyone when the situation allows that. I want my team to be the best when I'm a Medic. But IMO, usually on a full 32-player server with inifinite spam of rockets and bombs I find it useless to heal critically injured players unless 1) I have time to heal them, 2) they move away from the frontline. But there is just so much to heal, and the Medic's HPS is not fast enough, some of the players will die anyway. You know how fast a Heavy can die thes days, don't you? Even if I only stop healing him for a second... So my strategy is to hold the frontline by healing a Heavy/Demoman/Soldier more ofthen than the others, rather than allowing the enemy team to push us back. But sometimes that doesn't work either. Snipers with perfect skills headshot us, Spies have fun backstabbing us coz we have no Pyros (alive) coz they're so weak against the usual Soldier/Demo spam, etc... (Okay, smarter Heavies know when to cover themselves, but they get their full HP back so slowly, not to mention the others who are all injured already? Thank god Valve invented the
healing ramp.) Medics close to the frontline are a lot more likely to die too. (Even if you try your best to dodge and cover yourself, jump like crazy, be as unpredictable as you can, you are still a primary target. Usually noone is really helping to save you against those jumpy Scouts who can easily catch you from behind.) You can't really call yourself useful while you're on your way to find a health kit, wasting precious seconds. (Which is why I like when eg. a Demoman follows me so I can heal him in the meantime.) Oh, and one Medic is of course never enough for these spammy situations. And sometimes your 8 seconds of invulnerability is only as good as wasting it for your own protection. You know how many times I died by crits right after charging up to 100%? So (in certain situations), tell me it's my fault ubering too soon and I'll /ragequit.
Ubering more than 1 player at the same time is nice, but at the cost of shorter uber time, and if you're not too good at communication, a little more confusion by your uberees as well...
Oh and dear Pyros, these are for you:
