Re: Bring the <3
I love you Fester's Place!
Seriously folks, I've mentioned it before, but I just didn't enjoy online gaming before I found this wonderful community!
I'd played a bit of Battlefield, CS, DoD and Tf2 on other servers over the years, but it was always a very hollow experience, and usually populated with internet arseholes!
Then one magical Sunday, I found this wonderful server full of funny chatty people who didn't care how well you played, just that you were playing. In addition, I was splitting my sides laughing the entire time!
Here we are, I dunno how many years later (2 at least surely) and the only gaming time I have is my regular log ons to the server for a bit of a drink and a singsong (when I'm allowed).
I keep trying to explain to gamers and non-gamers alike that we genuinely buck the internet cliches and trends of online communities being just a bunch of souless ones and zeros. This place rocks, way more than most of you probably appreciate at the moment, and I can guarantee that in the years to come, you will look very fondly on your time spent, not playing TF2, but playing TF2 on Festers Place (and also our occasional L4D games too).

I spent my first time ever in Amsterdam with you guys.
Sadly there were some folks missing and I couldn't be there for the meeting this year but I'm sure this will happen again and probably again and again.
I never met people from Ireland before but once a Festerian I fell for ya language and whatever. Though this community is not about Ireland or irish people.
For me, the trip to Amsterdam, meeting up with all the grumpy friendly folks from all over Europe and the world is a memory for life. I would like to thank you again for that.
This only happened because some guy with the avatar of his own beer brand name told me to join the forums. I usually don't get involved with communities but something made me join the forums and kept me here.
...call it what you want, the spirit of Fester's Place.
Love you all.

I have to say festers is really the only reasonI'im still playing tf2 even with all the updates. It's also the first tfc/tf2 server community I've actually stuck with, before that I was just a wandering pyro. Sadly at the minute the nasty piece of fiction...or em ye.....original research is going to be keeping me from the server but all going well that should be out of the way soonish and I'll be back with a vengeance.

heya
i love the people making festersplace for what it is...not only the admins ofcourse.
all regulars i learn to know over the years makes me come back over and over.
everyone has there own quality's and seems to make the community work together on different stuff like games, maps, websites etc...
i just love that...thats a real community!
ofcourse the game is nice...but i never play on a different server because i also come for social contacts.
if it wasnt for the festersplace community i would have started my company so soon.
getting good support from people who like to help, in any way they can.
same for me, i may not be able to donate money much, i do like to help wherever i can to make the community even more happy. like with things as upcoming festers place radio. (i hope that will be a succes, maybe some live music by bosco and his mates live from a pub will work)
about matches - i play the matches just for fun.....
ive kind of tryed matches years back and came to festers place because i just want to have a good time, no strings attached. the highlander i play now is very much for fun...will not join other match ideas people have anyways...starting to get way to serious for me.
just know that i totally agree with having a very good server with community, and deff the best karaoke server around
when that started i couldnt imagine after such a long time people only like it more and even make more songs every week.
a big plus for festersplace!
no matter wich games come out, you won't get rid of me

Re: Bring the <3
For me it was about 2 years ago and the first time i set foot upon Fester's place as a nervous solly with only 20ish hours TF2 this happened...
You Tube Direct Link
The Gay euro-dance was more than apt imo.
It's only gotten better and better and everyone here is proper jokes and THAT is the only reason I play TF; to have legitimate fun.
But seriously Festers place.. you rock my world and are the best P4P community server out there, everyone keep up the good work and keep the lulz coming!

Re: Bring the <3
I think I started playing on Festers Place like 2 years ago or something, because of my irl friend Leroy (Voiz) who isn't active now anymore. I still remember I was only playing engie and medic back then because I simply couldn't aim lol.
Since then I played a lot other games, became and Advent groupie, was hoping you guys would remember me once I join the server etc etc.
Then after a few months of inactivity I came back and I had a wonderfull new thing. A mic!
Since then Festers Place really became a second home with a lot of good friends
The fun thing about this is that everyone knows almost everyone and there are no, or almost no fights or people who can't stand each other.
Since I'm only 17 I can't donate to the server because of my parents but I turn 18 in februari!
Keep up the good work admins
